However, keep an eye on your wallet when using him! Combine this Talent with the ability to survive a lethal strike and a health buff to get a viable anti-wave, ranged meatshield for many situations.Īttack Buff and Resist Slow are rarely useful and, in general, not recommended to spend precious NP on. His Immune to Waves Talent is recommended, as many dangerous enemies have Wave Attacks and, because he is a Rare Cat, he can be useful for 4-crown stages as a wave-immune meatshield. Overall, getting this True Form will be a worthwhile investment for 4-crown stages and stages like Ogre Island. The increased chance to knockback makes him even more reliable, which is always a welcome change. This mainly results in a massively increased survivability, due to the range not offering many new possibilities. He can still find use in keeping Berserkories supported by other short-ranged enemies off the frontline, like in Boiling Spring.ĭread Pirate Catley gains more than double the health, 30 more range and a 10% increased chance to knockback Red enemies. Later in the game, his use becomes more limited as more stages include either backliners that you would push towards or numerous enemies that would be unfazed by single target attacks, leading to units that slow/freeze/tank and/or have area attacks to heavily outclass him. If you can get a big enough stack of Pirate Cats, they can provide an almost guaranteed win against Dark Emperor Nyandam in stages where he is set as boss, provided they get a chance to get close, as a stack of Pirate Cats can effectively stun-lock Nyandam with their knockback ability, providing a window of opportunity for attackers. Use him in numbers as a support to stop the progress of short-ranged Red enemies, such as Bore, One Horn, Shy Boy and the Red Cyclone. This unit is very useful against Red enemies his range, knockback ability, spammability and attack rate make him quite effective, as long as there isn't an overwhelming amount of Red enemies.
